Itinerary

Day 01 : Rishikesh to Guptkashi

Drive to Guptkashi. Prep for the upcoming weeks of trekking.

Day 02-04 : First Kedar - Kedarnath

Trek to Kedarnath from Gaurikund. Visit the primary shrine and return.

Day 05-06 : Second Kedar - Madhyamaheshwar

Drive to Ransi village and trek to the beautiful Madhyamaheshwar temple. Return to Ransi.

Day 07-08 : Third Kedar - Tungnath

Drive to Chopta. Trek the well-paved path to Tungnath (the highest Shiva temple). Return to Chopta.

Day 09-11 : Fourth Kedar - Rudranath

Drive to Sagar village. The toughest trek of them all to Rudranath traversing bugyals. Return to Sagar.

Day 12-13 : Fifth Kedar - Kalpeshwar

Drive to Urgam valley and take a short hike to Kalpeshwar cave temple. Complete the Panch Kedar.

Day 14 : Return to Rishikesh

Drive back to Rishikesh, carrying immense spiritual fulfillments.

Fitness Requirements

Difficult and extremely long. Requires very high levels of stamina and mental resilience. Previous trekking experience is mandatory.

Preparation Tips:

  • Start jogging 3-4 kms a day at least a month before the trek.
  • Practice walking with a 5kg backpack.
  • Do squats and lunges to build thigh and calf muscle strength.
  • Practice yoga for better lung capacity (Pranayama).

Do's

  • Carry sufficient warm clothing and rain gear.
  • Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water during the trek.
  • Respect the local culture and religious sentiments at Hemkund Sahib.
  • Keep the trekking trails and campsites clean (Leave No Trace).

Don'ts

  • Do not pluck any flowers or disturb the flora in the valley.
  • Do not consume alcohol or smoke during the expedition.
  • Do not leave your group or trek alone without informing the guide.
  • Do not litter or leave plastic behind.
