Fitness Requirements
The Kedarnath segment requires trekking 16kms uphill. Trekkers should practice walking 3-4 kms a day prior to the trip. Pony and palanquin services are available for those who cannot hike.
Preparation Tips:
- Start jogging 3-4 kms a day at least a month before the trek.
- Practice walking with a 5kg backpack.
- Do squats and lunges to build thigh and calf muscle strength.
- Practice yoga for better lung capacity (Pranayama).

- Carry sufficient warm clothing and rain gear.
- Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water during the trek.
- Respect the local culture and religious sentiments at Hemkund Sahib.
- Keep the trekking trails and campsites clean (Leave No Trace).

- Do not consume alcohol or smoke during the expedition.
