Itinerary

Day 01 : Haridwar to Guptkashi

Morning departure from Haridwar.\nDrive alongside the Mandakini river.\nArrive in Guptkashi and check-in to your hotel.\nEvening visit to the ancient Vishwanath Temple.

Day 02 : Guptkashi to Kedarnath

Drive to Sonprayag, then take a local jeep to Gaurikund.\nCommence the 16km trek to Kedarnath.\nReach Kedarnath temple and attend the evening Aarti.\nOvernight stay in Kedarnath.

Day 03 : Kedarnath to Guptkashi

Early morning Darshan at Kedarnath Temple.\nTrek back down to Gaurikund.\nDrive back to Guptkashi for a restful evening.

Day 04 : Guptkashi to Badrinath

Scenic drive via Joshimath to Badrinath.\nCheck into the hotel upon arrival.\nTake a holy dip in Tapt Kund before visiting the temple.\nEvening Darshan of Lord Badri Vishal.

Day 05 : Badrinath to Rudraprayag

Visit Mana Village, the last Indian village before Tibet.\nDrive back towards Rudraprayag.\nStop at Joshimath to visit Narsingh Temple.\nOvernight stay in Rudraprayag.

Day 06 : Rudraprayag to Haridwar

Drive back to Haridwar via Rishikesh.\nVisit Devprayag, the confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi.\nTour concludes upon arrival in Haridwar.

Fitness Requirements

The Kedarnath segment requires trekking 16kms uphill. Trekkers should practice walking 3-4 kms a day prior to the trip. Pony and palanquin services are available for those who cannot hike.

Preparation Tips:

  • Start jogging 3-4 kms a day at least a month before the trek.
  • Practice walking with a 5kg backpack.
  • Do squats and lunges to build thigh and calf muscle strength.
  • Practice yoga for better lung capacity (Pranayama).

Do's and Don'ts

Do's

  • Carry sufficient warm clothing and rain gear.
  • Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water during the trek.
  • Respect the local culture and religious sentiments at Hemkund Sahib.
  • Keep the trekking trails and campsites clean (Leave No Trace).

Don'ts

  • Do not pluck any flowers or disturb the flora in the valley.
  • Do not consume alcohol or smoke during the expedition.
  • Do not leave your group or trek alone without informing the guide.
  • Do not litter or leave plastic behind.
