Itinerary

Day 01 : Haridwar to Barkot

Drive to Barkot via Mussoorie.\nStop at Kempty Falls.\nArrive in Barkot and rest for the night.

Day 02 : Barkot - Yamunotri - Barkot

Drive to Janki Chatti.\nTrek to Yamunotri (6 kms).\nTake a holy dip in Garam Kund, visit the temple.\nTrek back and return to Barkot.

Day 03 : Barkot to Uttarkashi

Drive to Uttarkashi.\nVisit the ancient Vishwanath Temple in the evening.\nOvernight stay in Uttarkashi.

Day 04 : Uttarkashi - Gangotri - Uttarkashi

Early drive to Gangotri via the beautiful Harsil valley.\nHoly dip in the freezing Bhagirathi river.\nDarshan at the Gangotri Temple.\nReturn to Uttarkashi.

Day 05 : Uttarkashi to Guptkashi

Long scenic drive to Guptkashi.\nCheck into the hotel and rest for the upcoming Kedarnath trek.

Day 06 : Guptkashi to Kedarnath

Drive to Sonprayag and shuttle to Gaurikund.\nTrek 16km up to Kedarnath.\nEvening Darshan and overnight stay near the temple.

Day 07 : Kedarnath to Guptkashi

Morning prayers at the temple.\nTrek back down to Gaurikund.\nReturn to your hotel in Guptkashi.

Day 08 : Guptkashi to Badrinath

Drive through the mountains to Badrinath via Joshimath.\nCheck-in and evening Darshan at Badrinath.

Day 09 : Badrinath and Mana Village

Morning holy dip in Tapt Kund.\nVisit Mana Village, Vyas Gufa, and Bhim Pul.\nOvernight stay in Badrinath.

Day 10 : Badrinath to Rudraprayag

Drive back down passing through Joshimath and Karnaprayag.\nOvernight stay in Rudraprayag.

Day 11 : Rudraprayag to Rishikesh

Drive down to Rishikesh.\nVisit the iconic Ram Jhula and Lakshman Jhula.\nAttend the magical Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat in the evening.

Day 12 : Departure from Haridwar

Short drive from Rishikesh to Haridwar.\nFinal Darshan at Har Ki Pauri.\nTrip concludes.

Fitness Requirements

This is a demanding 12-day journey with high altitude travel and a strenuous 16km trek. Good cardiovascular fitness and prior medical checkups are highly recommended.

Preparation Tips:

  • Start jogging 3-4 kms a day at least a month before the trek.
  • Practice walking with a 5kg backpack.
  • Do squats and lunges to build thigh and calf muscle strength.
  • Practice yoga for better lung capacity (Pranayama).

Do's and Don'ts

Do's

  • Carry sufficient warm clothing and rain gear.
  • Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water during the trek.
  • Respect the local culture and religious sentiments at Hemkund Sahib.
  • Keep the trekking trails and campsites clean (Leave No Trace).

Don'ts

  • Do not pluck any flowers or disturb the flora in the valley.
  • Do not consume alcohol or smoke during the expedition.
  • Do not leave your group or trek alone without informing the guide.
  • Do not litter or leave plastic behind.
